Urgent Foot & Ankle Care: Frequently Asked Questions

Should I go to urgent care for foot pain?

Yes, especially if you're dealing with sudden pain, swelling, injury, or an infection. Early treatment can prevent bigger issues later.

How do I know if my foot injury is serious?.

If you're limping, can't bear weight, see bruising, swelling, or an open wound, it’s best to get checked by a foot specialist right away

What can urgent care do for foot pain?

We diagnose the cause of your pain with on-site imaging, then start treatment right away, whether that’s rest, a boot, taping, or further workup.

Is it better to go to the ER or a podiatrist for a foot injury?

While we treat most foot and ankle injuries right in our office, there are times when going directly to the emergency room is the safest choice. If you’ve experienced a major trauma (such as a car accident or fall from a height), have uncontrolled bleeding, signs of a serious infection (like high fever, spreading redness, or pus with chills), or a possible broken bone with severe deformity, head to the ER immediately. Your safety is the priority! Once you're stable, we’re happy to take over follow-up care

What doctor should I see if I have foot pain?

A podiatrist is the best doctor to see for any foot or ankle problem. We’re trained to treat everything from sprains and fractures to infections and chronic pain.

What’s the difference between urgent foot care and a regular podiatry visit?

Urgent visits are for issues that need fast attention: injuries, infections, or severe pain. Regular visits are more for follow-ups or long-term management. At our office, we do both.

Do you treat ingrown toenails or infections on the same day?

Absolutely. We can treat painful ingrowns, nail infections, abscesses, and wounds, often during the same visit.

Can I be seen the same day?

Yes! We hold time daily for urgent visits. Call us or book online, and we’ll do our best to get you in quickly, usually same day.

Do you take X-rays on-site?

Yes! We have digital X-rays and diagnostic ultrasound available right in our office. No extra referrals or wait times.

Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist for urgent care?

No referral needed! You can call us directly or book online. We’ll take care of the rest.

Will insurance cover urgent podiatry care?

Yes, most insurance plans cover urgent visits. Call or text us to confirm your plan.

What if I don’t have insurance?

No problem. We offer an urgent visit flat rate of $150, which includes:

  • A thorough exam with our podiatrist

  • Digital X-rays (2–3 views)

  • Diagnosis and same-day conservative treatment

  • Basic padding, dressing, taping, or offloading if needed

If your visit requires more than just an evaluation, such as an ingrown toenail procedure, stitches for wound closure, injections, or a medical boot. There may be an additional fee. These typically range from $50 to $200, depending on the type of treatment.

We’ll always explain any additional costs before moving forward with treatment. No surprises! No pressure!
